When Father’s Day rolls around each June, that’s a sign for homes across the nation to bring out the grill and let Dad do his thing! If you’re growing fresh ingredients in the garden this year – even better! What a healthy way to get more vegetables on your plate, with a little extra flavor of the flame?
The varieties below are GREAT for grilling… either shish-kebab style on skewers, or cooked on a grill plate.
Use this quick marinade recipe below to add even more flavor to the dish. Don’t forget to add aromatics, if you wish, with home-grown herbs, too! Bon appetit and Happy Father’s Day!
Marinade
½ cup olive oil
½ cup soy sauce
½ cup lemon juice
½ clove garlic, crushed
Cover and marinate in refrigerator for 30 minutes. Preheat grill to medium heat. Lightly oil grate or grill pan. Cook 12-15 minutes or until tender.
