West End IB World School Garden Club entered the Chili Cook Off contest

West End IB World School is not only in the garden but in the kitchen, too! The Garden Club formed the team “Kids in the Garden” and entered the school’s third annual Chili Cook Off in an effort to raise money for the Outdoor Classroom and Garden Project.

The day before the cook-off, garden club members gathered in Ms. Stone’s classroom to make their now famous “Sustainable Chili.” Their special chili contained ingredients from the school garden along with a few other vegetables and herbs.

As students and teachers entered the building that morning, they were greeted with the delicious aroma of chili. Needless to say, it got everyone excited over the Chili Cook Off and a little bit hungry as well!

The garden club chili took home the 2nd place prize! Check out the ingredients we used for our “Kids in the Garden - Sustainable Chili” ... and enjoy!
