Nothing adds flavor to your recipes like fresh herbs – and they're so easy! If you've never grown them before, this is the year to give herbs a try.
No need to wait to start your herb garden. Buy your favorite Burpee herb seeds now and get a jump on summer. Just follow these simple steps:
- Soak your seeds for a few hours or overnight.
- Poke drainage holes in the bottom of your container and fill with an all-purpose soil mixture.
- Plant seeds close to the surface, 1 to 3 times deeper than the size of the seed. Water, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a warm, sunny spot. Make sure you keep the soil damp!
- When your seedlings appear, remove the plastic and give them plenty of light. Remember to water them!
- To transplant, pinch off the lower set of leaves and plant the seedling just past the pinch point in a hole big enough to hold the plant. Pat the soil down and water daily for a week, then water twice a week.
Have fun watching your herbs grow...and enjoy fresh flavor all season long!
