Nothing adds flavor to your recipes like fresh herbs – and they're so easy! If you've never grown them before, this is the year to give herbs a try.

No need to wait to start your herb garden. Buy your favorite Burpee herb seeds now and get a jump on summer. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Soak your seeds for a few hours or overnight.
  2. Poke drainage holes in the bottom of your container and fill with an all-purpose soil mixture.
  3. Plant seeds close to the surface, 1 to 3 times deeper than the size of the seed. Water, cover with plastic wrap, and place in a warm, sunny spot. Make sure you keep the soil damp!
  4. When your seedlings appear, remove the plastic and give them plenty of light. Remember to water them!
  5. To transplant, pinch off the lower set of leaves and plant the seedling just past the pinch point in a hole big enough to hold the plant. Pat the soil down and water daily for a week, then water twice a week.

Have fun watching your herbs grow...and enjoy fresh flavor all season long!
