Recipe: Basil Pesto

Pesto is super-simple to make. Grab those fist-fuls of homegrown basil and use this recipe as a dip for crackers, pour over pasta, or marinate your meats.

2 cups fresh basil leaves
2 cloves garlic
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp. grated Romano cheese
1/4 cup walnuts or pine nuts
1/4 cup olive oil
Salt and Pepper to taste
(Makes 1 cup)

Blend all ingredients well in a food processor. This recipe keeps well in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks.
