Mother’s Day means gardening

When mid-May hits we get excited for two things: Mothers & Mother Nature! Pardon our USDA Zone 5-centric outlook, but the arrival of Mother’s Day in the U.S. is the silent green light to get out and garden. The weather finds its footing, there are beautiful plants in stores, and the weekends are full of entertaining opportunities to enjoy the outdoors!

Give the gift of gardening this year – to Mom or anyone – with a care package of easy-sow flower seed, an herb plant potted up in a fun container, along with a garden tool or gloves. Wrap it in a burlap bag with a ribbon, or a wood craft crate to make it super cute.

You can also offer “garden coupons” to be redeemed later in the season, like one day of weed removal, watering while on vacation, harvest help on a day to-be-named, or lawn service.

Even if Mom is not a garden fan, you can still gift her your home-grown herbed butters, sauces, salts, salsas, or crafts inspired by your plants, like a scented sachet of lavender. Or why not press a dried flower or herb into your Mother’s Day card? Making it special is what it’s all about!

On behalf of our Burpee team, we’d like to extend a very Happy Mother’s Day wish to all! See you in the garden!
