We have now been growing an herb and vegetable garden for two and a half months! We frequently use the variations of basil, but have not used the peppers or tomatoes yet. They don't look quite ready, but I actually don't know how to tell when a vegetable is ready.

Grilled fresh vegetables for Father’s Day

When Father’s Day rolls around each June, that’s a sign for homes across the nation to bring out the grill and let Dad do his thing! If you’re growing fresh ingredients in the garden this year – even better! What a healthy way to get more vegetables on your plate, with a little extra flavor of the flame?

The varieties below are GREAT for grilling… either shish-kebab style on skewers, or cooked on a grill plate.

Something’s eating the peppers

So it’s officially been a month, and the container garden is off to a fantastic start. I haven’t gone nuts and overwatered, for one thing, even though this scorching early-June heat tempts my ability to refrain from drowning my plants.
