Free plants in Chicago!
Jessie Atchison  Burpee Home Gardens Brand Manager, 2008-2010

Tomorrow the Burpee Home Gardens Team will encourage our Chicago neighbors to grow vegetables this gardening season! To celebrate the passing of the frost-free date and the arrival of planting season, I and other members of the Burpee Home Garden will hand out 2,000 garden-ready plants to morning commuters near Union Station and Ogilvy Transportation Center Friday, May 21, at 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. The Team will be standing by with racks of vegetable plants on Riverside Plaza on the west side of the river between Madison St. and Monroe St., and sharing the joys of gardening with passers-by. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello! And pick up a free plant that's ready for your garden now!
